Folk Art Fusing Half Day Class

Adapt the evocative silhouette of traditional folk art shapes to the contemporary art of fusing. Simple folk art shapes like horses, rabbits, and pineapples are created with quick fused collage techniques. Fun, decorative borders frame your art quilt adding more pattern and color. You are the designer with a kit of pre-fused hand-dyed fabrics in folk art colors and basic silhouette shapes provided for the center motif. (No sewing machine needed.) $25 Kit fee.

Supplies Participants Should Bring:
- Small sharp scissors. Small, 5" knife blade scissors work well.
- Black fine point sharpie marker or lead pencil
- Rotary cutter, ruler, and mat.
- Specialty rotary cutter blades like Pinking, Wavy, or Scallop (optional).
- Cotton batting, 1 piece measuring about 22" x 22".
- Quilt backing fabric, 1 piece measuring about 22" x 22".
- Iron and ironing surface (share with other class members if not provided by group).
- Tweezers (optional)
- Small plastic bag for fabric scraps.

$30 Kit Fee: Includes hand out, patterns, pre-fused hand-dyed fabrics, and embroidery threads.
